Celebrate CLASP 2023

Honoring the Economy Shop

 

On November 12, friends of CLASP gathered in the lovely garden of Claremont Graduate University’s President House to honor the Economy Shop for its long-standing, generous support of CLASP and other local nonprofits. Rich Laughton, president of Economy Shop, was there to share the organization’s 100-year history and receive accolades from Representative Judy Chu, City Council members Jennifer Stark and Ed Reece, and CLASP Board President Frank D’Emilio.

The CLASP Party Committee, chaired by Nancy Ambrose and Cindy Sullivan, coordinated the many volunteers who helped with this annual event. Delicious gourmet delights were prepared by Robin Leonhard, Karen Rosenthal, Diann Ring, Kevin Ward, Ellen Hamilton, Bev Jack, and Sonja Dominguez. Maury Feingold made leaf-shaped chocolates that added to the colorful array of treats. Rhonda Prout designed lovely centerpieces that were given to lucky winners of the raffle. Other committee members included Carol Lee Marshall, Arlene Pirolo, Greg Shapton, Teddie Warner, Sarah Smizer and Mary Stoddard. Live musical entertainment was provided by Michael Ryan and Friends.
